There are over 30 students out of 84 at the Jr. High who live in extreme poverty and cannot afford a meal at school. The Jr. High does not provide free lunch, but it has a kitchen where food can be purchased. Some students bring minimal food, while others have breakfast at home and wait until after school to eat, as their parents cannot afford extra food. It is challenging to focus on learning with an empty stomach. We are currently sponsoring meals for 6 students, at a cost of $20 pesos ($1.18 USD) per day per student. School lunch costs $5.88 USD per week. With a monthly donation of $25, you can sponsor a student’s meals for a whole month.
